Katherine Schott, CNM is the Director of Clinical Care and Hormone Therapy Program Director for Transgender and Nonbinary Patients at Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania. Katherine first discovered her love of birth as a child while catching hundreds of “kids” on her family’s goat dairy in Niwot, Colorado. Katherine is passionate about making sexual and reproductive health accessible to all. She believes patient-centered communication and trauma-informed care are essential in reducing the shame and stigma often associated with sexual and reproductive health.
Katherine has been working in HIV testing and prevention for eighteen years. She developed one of the nation’s first Planned Parenthood PrEP programs. She is a member of the AIDS Free Pittsburgh PrEP subcommittee which works to build awareness and capacity for PrEP service delivery in Allegheny County.
